Tahini Carrot Cake

JUMP TO RECIPE

“This recipe from Omri’s mom, Rachella, is the one that woke me and my sisters to the power of tahini. The cake is super moist and rich. The tahini gives it a nutty aftertaste, and because the tahini reduces the amount of oil in the recipe, this cake never gets greasy the way many carrot cakes do.”

Interesting recipe. I’d strongly recommend against using vegetable oils. Vegetable Oils Are Carcinogenic https://www.lewrockwell.com/2019/11/joseph-mercola/why-vegetable-oils-are-carcinogenic/

We’ve gone nearly exclusively with Coconut and Olive oil in cooking.

I’d also recommend going with ‘aluminum free’ baking powder or soda as it’s toxic, can accumulate and leach calcium from bones and that’s only to start; it’s very problematic for human intake.

Hi Eve! So glad you like the recipe! The pan size is two standard 8" round baking pans. We’ve added that to the instructions. And yes, sometimes tahini is referred to as tahini paste. Soom Premium or Organic Tahini are just right for this recipe! Thanks so much for your feedback. 🙂

Hi-
This is a great recipe but I believe it would help if you specified the baking pan size. Also the frosting calls for “tahini paste.” Is this different than the Soom tahini in the cake? Thanks!
