Goldie Tehina Shakes

JUMP TO RECIPE

Goldie’s Tehina Shakes are unlike anything we’ve ever tasted before. Soom Tahini lends its nutty flavor into this gratifying sweet shake that’s anything but your typical milkshake. Made vegan and naturally dairy-free, this creamy, decadent drink has been a runaway hit since the inception of Michael Solomonov’s and Steven Cook’s Goldie in April 2017. Now you can make them at home, too!

Hi Tanya, we’re so glad to hear you enjoyed your Tehina Shake! A pistachio flavor sounds super delicious. Here’s a couple ideas for how you could experiment – Use pistachio milk (store-bought or homemade) instead of almond milk. Instead of adding a syrup use pistachio butter or extract. Or use a couple scoops of pistachio ice cream when you make the tahini/milk ice cubes. (you can cut the additional sugar out here too!) Let us know if you try any of these ideas out!

I just had one of these for the first time, though I’ve been using soom for years. It lived up to its legendary reputation!

Any thoughts on how one might create a pistachio version?

I’m excited to try making my own in the near future!

Hi! Could I replace sugar with date syrup? Or Agave? Looking for a option that doesn’t spike glucose.

Hi Alison, absolutely! Date syrup would pair super nicely in a Tehina Shake.

Hi Catherine! We love to hear it! So glad you love the shakes! You can most likely find ground Turkish coffee on Amazon or another specialty site.

I am in love with Goldie’s shakes and claim they have magical healing powers. I don’t even like coffee but love these. But help, where can I find Turkish coffee?

Hi Daniel! We suggest using a regular kitchen-grade blender for this recipe. The tahini is likely separating and developing a bitter taste from blending for too long.

Hello,
I have a a slushy smoothie machine at home and I tried to make the shake, after an hr the tahini breaks a part from the almond milk and the taste goes bad, what should I do to resolve the issue?? Thank you

Hi Angela! You can omit the coffee syrup if you’d prefer to try the OG Tehina Shake! You could also try replacing the coffee syrup with another flavor of your choice, like caramel or even Chocolate Tahini!

Does the original shake also have coffee syrup? or does it just use simple syrup?
Thank you!

Hi Daria! When boiling the coffee syrup you can add instant or pre-made Turkish coffee, depending on what you have on hand!

This shake at Goldie’s was one of the most delicious drinks I’ve ever had. It blew my socks off. The ingredients were so simple, and the nutty sesame flavor was not overpowering either. I highly recommend checking it out. I recreated this recipe at home, and on the first shot I’d say I got it to 70% of the original. Not bad for the first attempt!!

When making the coffee syrup, does one use instant or dried Turkish coffee or is liquid?

Thank you.
